In Week 7 the Rochester Rhinos were forced to settle for their first draw of the season. In Week 8, they suffered their first loss.
The Rhinos were defeated by the Harrisburg City Islanders, 1-0, on Friday night at Skyline Sports Complex courtesy of a second-half goal from Morgan Langley. Rochester only mustered four shots in the game, and their failure to finish saw them go on a two-game winless streak.
If that was not bad enough, what happened on Saturday was. The Rhinos played in their second game in two days and they were unable to defeat the last-place Dayton Dutch Lions, playing to a 2-2 draw at Miami Valley South Stadium. The Dutch Lions took two seperate leads in the game, but Rochester salvaged the result when Thomas McManus scored a goal at the death.
Here's a look back at all the Week 8 action in USL Pro:
RICHMOND KICKERS 3, WILMINGTON HAMMERHEADS 1
The Kickers defeated the Hammerheads in dramatic fashion on Saturday, as Chris Agorsor scored two late goals in a 3-1 win at City Stadium. David Bulow converted a second-half penalty kick for Richmond to negate a first-half finish from Andriy Budnyy, and Agorsor then gave the Kickers the three points by scoring twice in the final moments of the match.
CHARLESTON BATTERY 1, LOS ANGELES BLUES 0
Two days after grabbing a big road point against Orlando City, the Blues fell to the Battery, 1-0, on Saturday. Colin Falvey scored the game's lone goal in the first half, and on-loan D.C. United goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra recorded a clean sheet for Charleston at Blackbaud Stadium. Dykstra made three saves in the game.
ORLANDO CITY 2, CHARLOTTE EAGLES 1
Orlando City kept themselves undefeated and in first place of the league with a 2-1 victory over the Ealges on Saturday night. Former MLS players Jamie Watson and Matt Luzunaris each scored their first goal of the season before Charlotte trimmed the deficit through a finish from Christian Meza at the Citrus Bowl. Orlando is now 7-0-2 on the season.
