When the Philadelphia Union take to the field at BBVA Compass Stadium this weekend, one player who will not be in uniform is Raymon Gaddis.

The Union rookie defender was suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount by the MLS Disciplinary Committee on Thursday for his tackle on Sporting Kansas City midfielder Roger Espinoza this past weekend. The incident occurred in the 24th minute of Philadelphia's 4-0 victory on June 23, as Gaddis came in late on Espinoza. Gaddis was given a yellow card for the foul.

With Gaddis suspended and incumbent Sheanon Williams likely still out for the match with Houston due to a toe injury, Union head coach John Hackworth will now have a decision to make as to who he should start at right back.

Here is Gaddis' foul and more notes from around MLS:

EARTHQUAKES WAIVE TWO PLAYERS

The San Jose Earthquakes said goodbye to a pair of players on Thursday, waiving midfielder Ellis McLoughlin and defender Josh Suggs. Neither player made much of an impact during their time with the club. McLoughlin scored one goal in 10 appearances as a substitute for the Earthquakes, while Suggs started four Reserve League matches this season.

WHITECAPS TRADE TAN TO D.C. UNITED, WAIVE FRANKS

The Vancouver Whitecaps made a pair of roster moves Thursday, as they traded striker Long Tan to D.C. United and waived midfielder Floyd Franks. As part of the deal with United, Vancouver acquired another third-round selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Tan made four appearances for the Whitecaps this year, while Franks made two regular season cameos off the bench.

BURGOS RELEASED BY TORONTO FC

Efrain Burgos Jr.'s time with Toronto FC has come to an end. The second-year midfielder was waived by Toronto on Thursday, ending a stint with the club that begin in late March. The 23-year-old made just two appearances for last-place Toronto FC this season.

RAPIDS CUT THREE

Quincy Amarikwa, Ross LaBeux and former first-round draft pick Eddie Ababio were all released by the Colorado Rapids on Thursday.
