The summer MLS transfer window has been marked by some serious acquisitions, with Designated Players like Houston's Oscar Boniek Garcia, Vancouver's Barry Robson and Kenny Miller, Montreal's Marco Di Vaio, New England's Jerry Bengtson, Chicago's Sherjill MacDonald and New York's Tim Cahill and big-name, non-DP signing Alessandro Nesta among the new crop of stars joining the league.

With less than 24 hours remaining until the summer transfer window closes, though, Friday marks the last chance MLS teams have to add big-name talent from teams scattered around the world. The closing of the window does not prevent players from being transferred out of MLS, though, as the window only applies to incoming moves. Outward transfers depend on the windows of the other countries around the world.

MLS teams can still sign players ahead of the September 15 roster freeze date just as long as they are no long under contract with teams outside of the country and are free agents. That means a player like U.S. international Ricardo Clark, for example, would be eligible to return to MLS at a later date considering his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt will expire at the end of the month.

Which contenders do you think need to make a move before the transfer deadline? Which teams do you think have helped themselves the most with incoming transfers over the last month?
