Justin Morrow will be going to the All-Star game after all.
One of the bigger initial snubs of this year's event, Morrow was added to the MLS All-Star roster by head coach Ben Olsen on Thursday. The San Jose Earthquakes defender replaces New York Red Bulls defender Heath Pearce, who is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Morrow has been one of the keys to the Earthquakes' success this season. He is the only San Jose player to play every minute of every game this year, and he has one goal and two assists for the Earthquakes in 21 appearances
What do you think of Olsen selecting Morrow? Think he should have chosen someone else? Bummed by Pearce's absence?

Morrow has been a beast this season. He’s on his way up.
Well, he’s probably getting grief for not grabbing more of his own players. Makes sense to pick some young up-and-coming talent that’s at the top of the league already.
They’ve got both of SJ’s now- three if you include Corrales. Do they sub ’em all of at some point? I’ll watch this all-star game as its got 4 Quakes participating, but I usually don’t follow them much.
I know many of the Quakes have been excellent so far this season, but selecting another SJ player was kind of obnoxious on Olsen’s part.
To be fair, I guess he needed to select a fullback, and it’s hard to argue within that context.
Does he have USMNT potential?
+1
yea, but he played centerback for the quakes for the first 1/3 of the season or so. Until he eventually started replacing corrales, the captain, at leftback.
Ben Olsen is doing pretty well for a clueless guy.
And Beckerman is having a heck of a season, many including SBI have him as an MVP candidate.
Was disappointed when my Bucks didn’t sign him for the 2009 season. Was class for Cleveland in 2008 and for CFP in 2009. It wasn’t hard to figure he was going places. Another product of the best division in the PDL.
they should replace beckerman with frings…ben olsen is clueless
He’s a fullback.
Awesome, Cleveland boy!
Just looked him up on Wikipedia and it says he’s only 5’8″. Holy crap, don’t remember him being that small when I saw him play. Seems awfully small for a central defender
To continue the thought, I can’t remember the last all start team where the selections left so little to complain about, aside from Corrales, but we all know he’s not there based on merit. Chavez, Bernardez, Sene, Saborio, Besler, Gruenebaum… there are not too many others who have a strong case.
Chavez is beast, seen him play live a few times now. He definitely should have been on there.
All Star team still needs Chavez and Bernardez. But in fairness Corrales shouldn’t be there, so that would bring the Quakes presence up by just one. Take off… I can’t think of anyone, Donovan and Beckham didn’t deserve it at the time but they have stepped it up lately, plus they give us a better shot against Chelsea.
Well deserved..one of the most athletic guys in the league will be on the National team radar very soon
Is it just me or does the All Star team still have too few fullbacks?
Morrow is fast as hell and playing really well for SJ. Way faster than pearce but maybe not the same soccer brain.
