Real Salt Lake broke out of their four-game winless streak this past weekend, and Alvaro Saborio was the man largely responsible for that.
Saborio inspired RSL to a 3-0 victory over the Portland Timbers on Saturday, scoring a second-half hat-trick that raised his goal total to 10 on the season. Saborio scored off a pair of headers before burying a penalty kick in the match, and that earned him SBI's MLS Player of the Week award.
Saborio was the clear winner of the award, but honorable mention went to Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall, Freddy Adu of the Philadelphia Union, the Los Angeles Galaxy's Robbie Keane and Patrice Bernier of the Montreal Impact.
What do you think of Saborio winning SBI MLS Player of the Week award? Do you agree? Think Saborio is going to go on a scoring tear after this hat-trick performance?

Should have had 4 goals last week.
Great game by sabo. He’s been unlucky so it was only a matter of time before he scored a bunch. I still think RSL front office should an attacking player this season or we should see Velasquez some more if he’s healthy.
Saborio has been sorely underrated this year. If you add back in his wrongly called back goals, he would be close to Wondo for the scoring leader. I hope he goes on a tear now, adding more this Saturday against SJ.
I think Michael Farfan should have been considered. An assist and a game winning goal at LA on Wednesday. Then two assists yesterday vs Toronto. He has consistently been the best play on the Union this season.
