SBI MLS Rookie of the Week: Andy Rose

Andy Rose might not have gotten on the score sheet this past week, but his contributions to a four-point week for the Seattle Sounders — most notably in the club's 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids Saturday night — did not go unnoticed.

After coming off the bench in a mid-week draw against Real Salt Lake, the rookie out of UCLA helped the Sounders snap a nine-game winless stretch in a 90-minute performance, with his influential play in central midfield disrupting the Rapids and earning him SBI MLS Rookie of the Week honors.

Rose, selected in the supplemental draft by RSL before being traded to Seattle, edged out the likes of Antoine Hoppenot, who scored his second goal off the bench for the Philadelphia Union to cap the club's win over Toronto FC; and Darren Mattocks, who scored an opportunistic goal in Vancouver's win over Colorado last Wednesday, to take home the weekly honors.

What did you think of Rose's play? Which rookie do you think had the best Week 18 in MLS?
