While some of the more well-known rookies continued to impress this past weekend, it was one who many do not know much about that claimed SBI's MLS Rookie of the Week award.
Los Angeles Galaxy left back Bryan Gaul claimed this week's honors after helping the Galaxy blank FC Dallas, 1-0, on Saturday. Gaul shut down speedy winger Jackson for much of the encounter and that played a pivotal part in allowing Los Angeles to come away with the three points at FC Dallas Stadium.
Gaul beat out Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks as well as Austin Berry of the Chicago Fire to grab his first SBI MLS Rookie of the Week award this season.
