MLS Match Day: Your Running Commentary

MLS Logo

The race for the playoff spots continues to heat up in Major League Soccer today, with a handful of key match-ups headlining today's league action.

D.C. United has traveled to Canada, and will take on the Montreal Impact in a clash of teams vying for fifth place in the East, and the playoff berth that goes with it. D.C. United is currently two points clear of Montreal, with three games in hand, and can create some more distance with a win on the road.

That won't be easy against an Impact side that has been rolling lately. Winners of five of their past six, the Impact will be tough to stop at Stade Saputo, though D.C. United's tough defense will have a chance.

In the Western Conference, Chivas USA will try to climb a step closer to a playoff place with a home win against a surging Seattle Sounders side. Dan Kennedy has been the league's best goalkeeper this season, and he is sure to be tested repeatly by a Sounders attack featuring Eddie Johnson and Fredy Montero.
