Playing in front of the largest crowd to ever watch a game at Livestrong Sporting Park, Sporting Kansas City looked destined to suffer a rare home loss at the hands of the Houston Dynamo, but Graham Zusi and C.J. Sapong combined to send the fans in blue home happier than they would have been if KC had lost.

Zusi floated a perfect back-post cross to a wide-open Sapong, who headed home a game-tying goal in the third minute of second-half stoppage time to help Sporting KC salvage a 1-1 draw on Friday night. Sapong's goal canceled out a first-half strike from Brad Davis in the 58th minute.

The draw helped extend Sporting KC's lead atop the Eastern Conference to four points ahead of the second-place Chicago Fire, while the Dynamo moved into a tie for third place in the East with the New York Red Bulls.

Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall enjoyed an outstanding night, keeping KC off the scoreboard with seven saves, including clutch stops on Sapong in the 33rd minute and Chance Myers in the 84th minute.
