Nick DeLeon spent his pre-professional days looking up to Dwayne De Rosario and trying to model his game after the D.C. United captain and MLS great. This past week, he combined with him twice for two notable moments.

DeLeon bounced back from an illness to finish off a pass from De Rosario for a goal, and he then returned the favor by assisting De Rosario for his 100th career goal in D.C. United's 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls last Wednedsay. DeLeon was effective in manning the right wing again Saturday against Real Salt Lake, with the two performances leading him to SBI MLS Rookie of the Week honors.

The goal was DeLeon's fifth of the season and his assist was his fourth, as he has reclaimed the form that made him an early Rookie of the Year candidate in the season's opening months.

DeLeon beat out a list of candidates this past week that included Columbus Crew goalkeeper Matt Lampson, Chicago Fire defender Austin Berry and Red Bulls fullback Connor Lade.

What did you think of DeLeon's performance? How would you rate his rookie season overall? Which rookie do you think had the best Week 26?
