The past week wasn' exactly a lesson in beautiful soccer for D.C. United, but for a team that recently lost reigning league MVP Dwayne DeRosario to an injury, finding a way to generate vital results in the thick of a playoff race is beautiful in its own right.

Riding some tough defending and some opportunistic finishing, D.C. United posted a pair of shutout victories last week that helped them climb into a tie for third place in the Eastern Conference. Those results made D.C. United this week's pick for SBI MLS Team of the Week.

Led by Lionard Pajoy, who scored the game-winner against former club Philadelphia Union last Thursday, then set up Branko Boskovic's winner on Sunday, D.C. United ran their record since DeRosario's injury to 3-0.

Both San Jose and Sporting Kansas City were strong candidates for the honor after posting four-point weeks, but D.C. United's pair of shutout victories made the difference.

What did you think of D.C. United's performances last week? Which team in MLS impressed you the most last week?
