Chicago Fire vs. Philadelphia Union: Your Running Commentary

Chicago Fire Logo Philadelphia Union Logo

The Chicago Fire will be looking to shake off last week's loss to Sporting Kansas City and get back in the race for first place when they take on the Philadelphia Union at Toyota Park tonight (8:30pm, Direct Kick).

The Fire can close the distance behind Sporting KC to two points in the race for first place, and they will do so against a Union side that slipped out of the playoffs thanks to their recent run of bad form. With Freddy Adu injured, the Union will need Michael Farfan and Jack McInerney to lead an offense that has struggled to generate goals for much of the season.

The Union offense has shown some signs of life in recent weeks, scoring five goals in their past two matches, but they will face a stingy Fire defense and imposing young goalkeeper Sean Johnson.

If you will be watching tonight's match, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Enjoy the action.

  1. This is not a playoff-caliber defense right now.

Chicago missed the grit of Segares. On a night of celebration, they were caught sleeping.

  2. Horrible showing by the Fire. The Union have scored 31 goals in 29 games before this, and we let them put in 3 against us at home?
