El Clasico kicks off for the 2012-2013 La Liga season, as Real Madrid takes on Barcelona at Camp Nou. This is the 166th match in league play between the two rivals. Real Madrid will be looking to make up ground on Barcelona, as the defending La Liga champions are off to a slow start this season. Sitting eight points behind Barcelona, which leads the league, Real Madrid has a great chance to continue their recent run of success against Barcelona, having won two of the last three matchups between the two historic clubs.

Barcelona's captain, Carles Puyol, is out for today's match due to a dislocated elbow he suffered in Champions League play last week. Meanwhile, for Real Madrid, Mesut Özil gets the nod over Luka Modric in midfield.
