SBI MLS Best XI: Week 33

While he may not get as much attention for it as players like Chris Wondolowski and Thierry Henry do,  Robbie Keane has put together an MVP-caliber season as the focal point of the Los Angeles Galaxy attack.

He strengthen his case for an MLS Best XI nod against the San Jose Earthquakes, scoring a goal in the Galaxy’s 1-1 draw, and matching league scoring leader Chris Wondolowski on the day. Keane’s performance earned him a place on SBI’s MLS Best XI for the week.

Also making the squad was a quartet of Seattle Sounders who were key to the team securing four points from two matches. Goalkeeper Michael Gspurning was outstanding in shutting out Real Salt Lake while Fredy Montero was pivotal in Seattle’s destruction of the FC Dallas defense.

The Best XI has some youth on the squad as well this week, with 21-year-old Martin Rivero and D.C. United rookie Nick DeLeon making the cut after helping their respective teams to victory.

Here is a rundown of the SBI MLS Best XI for the next to last week of the regular season:
