SBI MLS Team of the Week: Seattle Sounders

The Seattle Sounders were the only MLS team to play two matches last week, and while they weren’t able to take all six points, they certainly showed the qualities that make them a clear-cut title contender.

The Sounders overcame an early red card to earn a hard-fought draw against Real Salt Lake, then flexed their attacking muscle in a 3-1 victory against FC Dallas. The four points helped pull them into second place in the Western Conference with one match remaining, and also earned them SBI MLS Team of the Week honors.

The Sounders beat out D.C. United, the Colorado Rapids and the Portland Timbers for this week’s honor.

What did you think of the Sounders last week? Which MLS team impressed you the most last week?

      • Because I was a fan of the sport and the league before I was an RSL fan. If my team moved from Utah (which could happen to any team), I would still follow the league. And I am also a realist. Unless RSL starts paying out LA-like salaries, I can’t logically expect cup championships every single year. The league is getting much better than it was even five years ago. I cheer for teams that are building the league in the way I see works best for the league. Because I want to not have to have a chip on my shoulder because I like soccer.
