One of the most anticipated matchups of the year takes place at Stamford Bridge today, as Chelsea will take on Manchester United. Chelsea is off to a torrid start this season, following their Champions League championship earlier this year. Yet despite having yet to lose so far this season, they sit just one point clear of second-place Manchester City, and four points clear of Manchester United.
Meanwhile, another rivalry matchup will go down at Goodison Park, as the Merseyside Derby will pit Liverpool and Everton together for the 219th time in the historic rivalry. David Moyes and company find themselves fourth in the standings after four wins in their first eight matches. They will look to continue that against Liverpool, which has yet to find its footing.
Elsewhere, several clubs scattered across the top of the Serie A standings will be in action, as Juventus will welcome Catania, along with Bologna taking on Inter Milan. In addition, American Michael Bradley and AS Roma will travel to Udine to take on the struggling Udinese squad.
Stateside, most teams will be concluding their MLS season. However, two playoff-bound teams will face off at the Home Depot Center, as the LA Galaxy will welcome the Seattle Sounders. Both know their fate, with the Galaxy taking on the Vancouver Whitecaps in the opening round of the playoffs, but that will not diminish the intensity on the field between two teams who will be looking to enter the playoffs on the right foot.
