MLS Playoffs: Dynamo vs. Sporting KC (Your Running Commentary)

After a regular season that saw the Houston Dynamo fail to lose a single game at their new home at BBVA Compass Stadium, Dominic Kinnear and company will look to continue that pattern as they host their first ever playoff game there today, taking on the Eastern Conference-winning Sporting Kansas City. (3:30 PM, NBC)

Much like last year, Houston goes into the playoffs under the radar, hoping to duplicate last year’s success and making a surprise run to the MLS Cup. After knocking out the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park last week, Houston takes on a much more formidable foe in the form of Sporting Kansas City.

Houston will feature a starting lineup identical to Wednesday’s match against Chicago, with forward Will Bruin looking to continue his strong start to the playoffs, after netting a brace against the Fire.

Meanwhile, Sporting Kansas City will send out their usual starting lineup, with the strong centerback duo of Aurelien Collin and Matt Besler looking to keep Bruin and company out of the net.

In three matchups this season, Houston had the only win, defeating Sporting Kansas City at home 2-1 in July. The other two matchups contained a scoreless draw, along with a 1-1 draw in their final match during the regular season in September.
