The MLS playoffs and a pair of juicy tilts in the English Premier League and Serie A headline the weekend’s soccer action on TV.
Juventus will put their unbeaten record on the line against Inter Milan in a match-up of the top two teams in Serie A. Juve has opened up a four-point lead in the league, but Inter can close that gap to one by becoming the first team since the 2010/2011 season to beat the Italian champions.
Robin Van Persie’s reunion with Arsenal is another headliner as Manchester United vies to keep pressure on Chelsea atop the English Premier League. The Gunners need a result to keep climbing toward the top four, but
Major League Soccer kicks off the conference semifinals this weekend with four exciting match-ups, each of which is a toss-up. The Los Angeles Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes should offer up the most wide-open series of the four, while, Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo prepare for what should be a tense and physical battle.
Here is a rundown of This Weekend’s Soccer on TV, and SBI’s Top Ten Matches to Watch:
SBI’S TOP TEN MATCHES TO WATCH
1. Manchester United vs. Arsenal. Van Persie faces the Gunners in what should be a wide-open and fast-paced clash.
2. San Jose Earthquakes vs. Los Angeles Galaxy. These teams both love to attack, and they don’t like each other. Throw in playoff intensity and this one is a can’t-miss.
3. Juventus vs. Inter Milan. Inter is the one team standing in the way of Juve running away with Serie A in November. Can young midfielder Paul Pogba keep up his impressive recent run?
4. Seattle Sounders vs. Real Salt Lake. The Sounders may not have Eddie Johnson healthy, but they’ll have a packed CenturyLink Field behind them as Fredy Montero looks to lead the attack against a tough RSL defense.
5. Valencia vs. Atletico Madrid. Radamel Falcao is playing some of the best soccer in the world, and Atletico can keep pressure on Barcelona with a road win against a tough Valencia side.
6. D.C. United vs. New York Red Bulls. Hated rivals collide as D.C. United looks to keep their strong end to the regular season rolling into the post-season, but Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper will be a handful for the D.C. defense.
7. Houston Dynamo vs. Sporting Kansas City. Sporting KC may be the top seed in this series, but the Dynamo have a knack for stepping up in the playoffs, and they finished unbeaten at BBVA Compass Stadium this year.
8. Liverpool vs. Newcastle. Two mid-table teams in dire need of three points to boost their chances of climbing closer to the top four.
9. Barcelona vs. Celta Vigo. Look for Lionel Messi to celebrate the birth of his first child with a hat-trick (or more).
10. Roma vs. Palermo. Roma games are never boring with Zeman as boss, so expect plenty of goals, and potentially a chance to see Michael Bradley in the Roma starting lineup.

It really sucks that good matches are on a channel that isn’t on most cable systems.
The US rivalry playoff matches should be top billing….The Dynamo/SKC rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference final could be the best of the bunch.
no one cares. Honestly
Then why are you commenting?
Troll elsewhere.
I like how fsc is covering all the low div england games, are they cup or league?
Mmmmmmm, juicy tilts….
I read this comment too fast the first time….thought I missed something in the photo. 🙂
I read this real fast and thought I was on the wrong website again.
