Club Tijuana’s dreams of being Mexican champions can still become reality.

Tijuana reached the Liga MX semifinals on Sunday after playing to a 1-1 draw with Monterrey in the second leg of their quarterfinals series, a result that sent Xolos through on aggregate, 2-1. Tijuana had won the first leg on Thursday courtesy of a late goal from Greg Garza, and they went up 2-0 on aggregate in the second half of Sunday’s home match before conceding a late goal in stoppage time.

Garza and Edgar Castillo both saw the field in the second leg while fellow Mexican-American Joe Corona dressed but did not play. Garza came off the bench and played 19 minutes, and Castillo started and went the distance.

Xolos will face Leon in the semifinals.

What do you think of Tijuana advancing to the semifinals? Can you see Xolos making it to the finals? Think they have what it takes to win it all?
