Galaxy face Fire, Timbers host Red Bulls in 2013 MLS opening weekend

Defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy will take on the Chicago Fire at Home Depot Center and the New York Red Bulls will face the Portland Timbers at Jeld-Wen Field in two of the headlining match-ups of the opening weekend of the 2013 MLS season.

Major League Soccer announced the home openers for all 19 teams, and the New England Revolution will be the team with the longest wait for a home opener, facing FC Dallas at Gillette Stadium on March 23rd.

Sebastien LeToux will make his return to PPL Park as a Philadelphia Union player on March 2nd when the Union take on Sporting Kansas City. Philadelphia will be involved in another home-opening reunion on March 9th when Conor Casey returns to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to take on the Colorado Rapids.

The Red Bulls will have to wait until March 16th to open Red Bull Arena as they take on arch-rival D.C. United in their first home match.
