Keane signs contract extension with Galaxy

The LA Galaxy are keen on Robbie Keane.

The Galaxy announced on Wednesday that they re-signed Keane to a multi-year contract extension. The 32-year-old Designated Player enjoyed a strong season in 2012, scoring 16 regular season goals and assisting on nine others while helping the Galaxy repeat as MLS Cup champions.

Keane joined the Galaxy in 2011 and helped them lift the MLS Cup that year, assisting on Landon Donovan’s winner in a 1-0 triumph over the Houston Dynamo in the MLS Cup final. In last season’s final, Keane scored on a penalty kick to cap the scoring in LA’s 3-1 victory over the Dynamo.

Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

What do you think of the Galaxy re-signing Keane to a contract extension? Do you see him continuing to terrorize opposing defenses as well as he did in 2012?
