The U.S. Women’s National Team is a couple of weeks away from partaking in the 2013 Algarve Cup, and now we know who is headed to Portugal to participate in the tournament.

U.S. head coach Tom Sermanni named a 23-player roster for the competition on Thursday and it includes forwards Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach as well as midfielders Megan Rapinoe and Carli Loyd. Other notable players on the roster are forward Sydney Leroux and defender Ali Krieger.

One notable omission from the team is Hope Solo. The veteran goalkeeper was left off the roster due to a wrist injury that she has been playing through for some time. Solo has damage to ligaments in her right wrist and surgery may be required to get her back to full health.

The U.S. open their Algarve Cup campaign on March 6 against Iceland.

Here is the full 23-player roster:

Goalkeepers (3): Nicole Barnhart (FC Kansas City), Ashlyn Harris (Duisburg), Jill Loyden (Sky Blue FC)

Defenders (7): Rachel Buehler (Portland Thorns FC), Crystal Dunn (North Carolina), Whitney Engen (Liverpool FC), Ali Krieger (Washington Spirit), Kelley O’Hara (Sky Blue FC), Christie Rampone (Sky Blue FC), Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City)

Midfielders (8): Yael Averbuch (Göteborg FC), Shannon Boxx (Chicago Red Stars), Lauren Cheney (FC Kansas City), Tobin Heath (Paris Saint-German), Carli Lloyd (Western NY Flash), Kristie Mewis (FC Kansas City), Heather O’Reilly (Boston Breakers), Megan Rapinoe (Olympique Lyonnais)
