Soccer Wednesday: Your Running Commentary

As far as international fixture dates go, today will offer up a stacked and unique variety of matches for American fans looking to get their soccer-viewing fix.

The CONCACAF Hexagonal Round of World Cup qualifying kicks off today, not only with the United States taking on Honduras, but with Mexico facing Jamaica and Panama taking on Costa Rica tonight. Mexico will be favored to take three points from the ‘Reggae Boyz’ but the Panama-Costa Rica clash will be an important one for setting the tone between two Central American rivals who are likely to be each other’s biggest challenge for one of the final spots in CONCACAF qualifying.

In Africa, the African Cup of Nations continues with semifinals featuring Mali taking on Nigeria and Ghana meeting underdog side Burkina Faso.

If you love high-profile friendlies, Wednesday has those too with England encountering Brazil, Germany meeting France and Netherlands meeting Italy.
