He djrilled that.
you are clever, you
Audacious to even attempt from there. Wow.
I dont know what is more exciting the goal or the announcer! Amazing come back
Anybody that plays the game knows that Yedlin’s goal was much higher degree of difficulty. It’s much harder to strike a ball dropping ball from high in the air rather than set up a volley with your own touch ala Traore
Yea, and he called the ricochet, didn’t he?
I love these “anyone who plays the game” type of comments. You’re not impressing anyone with that statement.
@Corey & Trevor: Smokes, let’s go
He just can’t control his feet!
Be the change you want to see in the world, shane.
Guess I didnt hit reply, need more coffee…
My hope is that someday an accent wont be the most important qualification for being a soccer commentator.
Agree with you, shane, a British accent should not be a prerequisite for being a TV soccer commentator. I don’t think the guy on video is not that bad though. But in the video below to Italy’s winning goal over Germany in 2006, perhaps one of the most dramatic moments in World Cup soccer history, I gotta say the one announcer is kind of irritating and just about anyone with a British accent would probably be better.
2006 FIFA World Cup Semifinal: Italy vs. Germany
If it’s the most important thing why are so any Americans working as soccer announcers?
Crazy. Straight Crazy.
Take that Awesome!
Take that SSFC wa wa’s
Seattle Sounders so hot right now. Sounders.
That was just sick. Well done, Sounders.
I’m a Santos Laguna fan and all I have to say is congrats Seattle! Tigres is one of our most hated rivals and for El Tuca Ferretti had the audacity to send out a B-team as he has always done like last year’s copa libertadores and even from his Pumas days. I hope he gets trashed by the mexican media when he arrives to Monterrey, anyways congrats Seattle enjoy it while it last we’re coming for you! first we have to take care the Dynamo….
Hopefully dynamo win. From the first game, I noticed mexican teams have trouble with one touch passing in the middle of the field. Houston is good at that
Agreed, bravo Seattle and congratulations on a great win. MLS! MLS! MLS!
Hard to argue with that but I’d still take Yedlin’s goal over Traore’s, given the momentum swing it caused.
Yes but in terms of distance and power I think this was the better. Both excellent strikes on volleys from well outside of 206, in fact Traores was from like 509.
Yedlin being only 19 is crazy. I’m dreaming of him playing for the full national team already!
Speaking of Yedlin, that guy is an absolute animal. He made some of those UANL defenders look amateurish. I had to check my PS3 to see if I was playing FIFA or watching an actual game.
Definitely a jaw dropper. Leaves you shaking your head in amazement.
Beautiful goal. All of them actually.
As a huge Liverpool fan I remember his clearance of Sheva’s shot in the UCL way back when, but thats really the only memory I have him. When his name popped up with Seattle earlier this year I said “Oh that’s cool, I wonder if he is still any good”, and shrugged it off, but this goal is absolutely stunning.
What a goal and such a perfect time to do it
If Wikipedia is anything to go by, that’s his first club goal, too. Looks like he’s scored once with the national team, but never with a club. Not a bad way to get off the mark.
I got tricked by that too. The header in Wiki lists only club goals in league play. He has scored only two other times. Once for Liverpool in European play and once for Monaco in Coupe de France play. Regardless, it’s a jaw-droppingly gorgeous goal made even better that it came from a guy who so rarely scores.
Thanks for the info. He certainly made it look like he does it all the time.
D-Jimmy used to be known for comical own goals
“World class… and then some!”
One of the best you’ll ever see.
Ives why don’t you just go ahead and post a link to all three goals from that game. Golazos.
