When the 2013 season began, it was believed that Robbie Keane would be the goal-scoring machine who would lead the Los Angeles Galaxy while Landon Donovan was away on his sabbatical.

It hasn’t been Keane leading the attack though. It has been Mike Magee, who has amassed a league-leading five goals through the first month of the 2013 MLS season to not only help the Galaxy be the only unbeaten team in Major League Soccer, but also to earn SBI MLS Player of the Month honors.

Magee beat out a field of candidates that included Montreal midfielder Patrice Bernier, FC Dallas playmaker David Ferreira and Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.

A key figure in the past two MLS Cup-winning sides with the Galaxy, Magee has started to garner calls for a U.S. Men’s National Team look thanks to his stellar goal-scoring record, and he has also helped the Galaxy reach the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League.

What do you think of Magee’s month of March? Which MLS player garnered your vote for Player of the Month for March?
