Unceremoniously, D.C. United waved goodbye to midfielder Marcos Sanchez on Friday.
The Panamanian, on-loan in the U.S. capital from Tauro FC in Panama, had his deal terminated by Ben Olsen while Sanchez is away on international duty. The recent signing of Sainey Nyassi lead to speculation that Sanchez’s disappointing time at D.C. United was up.
The 23-year-old made nine appearances this season, six of them in the starting 11, but failed to score a goal or help D.C.’s struggling attack.
