Puebla part ways with Beasley

DaMarcusBeasley Puebla (Puebla)

By DAN KARELL

DaMarcus Beasley’s two years with Puebla helped rejuvenate his playing career, but now his time there is over.

The 31-year-old U.S. Men’s National Team player was unable to negotiate a new contract with the Liga MX club and will be looking for a new home come the start of next season. The club announced the news on Tuesday night via their Twitter account.

Beasley, who recently earned his 100th USMNT cap, moved to Puebla two years ago, joining the club ahead of their 2011 Apertura season. He went from hardly playing at Hannover in the Bundesliga to becoming a fan favorite within months in Mexico. His play in Liga MX helped give him another opportunity with the national team as well.

The Fort Wayne, Indiana native scored 11 goals in 64 Liga MX appearances for Puebla.
