The Chicago Fire are starting to heat up, and this past week showed just how different a team they are now compared to the struggling squad they were when the season began.
The Fire pulled off a pair of wins last week, coming back in each game, to continue their climb up the MLS Eastern Conference standings. Their come-from-behind victories against Colorado and Chicago helped earn the Fire SBI MLS Team of the Week honors.
Led by Mike Magee’s two game-winners, the Fire have closed the gap on the playoff teams in the East and now sit just five points behind the playoff pack, with a game in hand on most of the teams ahead of them.
The Fire beat out the Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers for this week’s honors.
