For the third time in as many seasons, Conor O’Brien has found a new club to call home.

Odense Boldklub, commonly known in Denmark as OB, acquired the 24-year-old American midfielder on Saturday, announcing that they O’Brien had signed a contract through June 30, 2015. He will wear the No. 14 shirt.

“We are excited to add another strong player for our squad,” OB Sporting Director Jesper Hansen said in a statement on the club’s website. “Conor O’Brien is a talented, hard-working midfielder who has a great experience in the (Danish) Superliga. Now we look forward to him fighting for a place in the OB squad.”

Until Saturday, O’Brien was a member of Danish club FC Nordsjælland, helping lead the team to a second-place finish in the Superliga last season and a place in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. Unfortunately for O’Brien, his team were routed, 6-0, on aggregate by Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg. After being dropped into this season’s Europa League qualifiers, Nordsjælland again failed to beat their opposition, as Swedish side Elfsborg town the Danish club down, 2-1, on aggregate.

O’Brien’s new club OB is currently in third place in the league table. The Long Island native won’t play his most recent club until December 7, the final match day before the long winter break. O’Brien however will be able to play another former club, SønderjyskE, where he played 2011 and 2012, on October 19.

“I am very happy to switch to OB,” O’Brien said on the club’s website. “I scored my first Superliga in Odense, and now I look forward to many more experiences. Before signing the contract, I met with (head coach) Troels Bech and I’m really looking forward to playing under him.”
