The teams with the highest combined rankings kick off in our nation’s capital at 1pm on Saturday as the SBI No. 4 Creighton Bluejays take on Big East foe No. 6 Georgetown Hoyas in the weekend’s marquee match-up.
The Hoyas have hit their stride in recent weeks, winning four straight matches to climb back into the SBI Top 10. The Bluejays are coming off a disappointing draw vs. Michigan State last Tuesday, but can make a push for the No. 1 spot in the rankings with a valuable road victory.
Meanwhile, a Horizon League school jumped eight spots to crack this week’s top 10, and UW-Milwaukee will travel east to take on the University of Detroit Titans Saturday in its first Horizon League match of 2o13. The Panthers, at 6-0-1, tied Drake and opened the season with a 2-1 win against then-No. 12 Marquette.
The top match-up for pro scouts to watch will take place on Saturday in ACC country, when No. 13 Wake Forest takes on No. 16 North Carolina. The Demon Deacons
Furman is the only team in the top 25 to play two games this weekend. The No. 13 UCLA Bruins are idle this weekend.

A good week for my Old Dominion Monarchs. Starting with a 5-0 beatdown of VMI at home, we managed a 1-1 draw at eighth-ranked Maryland before capping it off with a 2-1 road win over number fifteen Tulsa. Hopefully that’ll move us into the top 25.
Washington wins on the golden goal…just another reason to love college soccer.
Cal-Wash next week is going to be fun. 100 years of sports rivalry and two of the better teams.
Just watched Cal v Santa Clara yesterday. It’s crazy, the stadiums are totally empty, but the games are so entertaining.
Saw the NotreDame Duke game tonight. Real impressed with Patrick Hodan. Not the fastest guy out there, but controls the ball well and is a phenomenal passer, often showing patience to let a run develop. Not to mention he scored the game winning goal with two minutes left with a nice left foot curler. Duke’s number 6 also looked good but seemed to tire out
Hey Ives, how about giving some love to my Syracuse Orange. We’ve only lost two games: one to G’town and one in OT to Va. Tech and have beaten the likes of Uconn and Duke. At Duke!!
Go Cuse!!!
Creighton and Georgetown are in the Big East. Michigan state is in the Big Ten (aka not the big east)
