Just days after the victory against Mexico that clinched the U.S. Men’s National Team’s place in the World Cup, Americans Abroad enjoyed a very good weekend in foreign leagues from Mexico to Europe.
Three Americans in the U.S. player pool scored goals, while Tim Howard recorded his second shutout of the week in Everton’s win vs. Chelsea. Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I discuss the successful weekend enjoyed by players such as Aron Johannsson, Terrence Boyd and Sacha Kljestan.
We also discuss last weekend’s MLS action, including Seattle’s impressive victory vs. Real Salt Lake.
Give Episode 70 of The SBI Show a listen after the jump:

What did you think of the show? Which Americans Abroad performance impressed you the most? See Seattle being the MLS Cup favorite now?

For those of us who know little about NCAA soccer it would have been nice to learn a little more about the rule differences. You indicate that there is little chance of the rules changing, but don’t say why this is the case. Who doesn’t want the rules to change? Why not? Why do they have different rules in the first place?
Thanks. Enjoyed the show as always.
Ives, let’s be honest… Noone is paying to download this podcast nor will anyone every will. It is the better decision to make them all downloadabe for free. You’ll increase traffic and readership. Free business tip brah
What are you talking about? It’s free on all platforms. iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher….do some homework, brah.
Uh… feel free to go ahead and click play there, brah. It has always been free.
Great show guys…
Well done Ives. I don’t get time to listen to these as often as I would like to, but when I do they are always quality.
Great job Ives!!!
Congrats on another great show.
Finally American soccer is being discussed.
Stoked about the SBI party, clearing my calender for MLS Cup
When will we be able to download these podcasts? I can’t always listen to them at work, but have an hour long commute which would be perfect for your podcast (which by the way is currently taken up by your competitors – Extra Time Radio, Soccer Morning, Big Head & the Red Head, etc., all of which have downloadable MP3’s). I realize that I am one of the few left on this earth that doesn’t have an $900 IPhone5, so pity me Ives. Downloads.
Keep up the good work!
Don’t have an iPhone 5 (of any price) and I’ve been downloading them from the iTMS for quite some time, now. Just go to podcasts and search for the SBI Show. Downloaded this very one and listened to it this morning while out, without any streaming or data plan usage involved.
Dunno if this will come through here (be kind of funny if it got filtered out!), but this is the direct link to the SBI Show on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sbi-show/id595048220
I’ll second that request for making your podcasts available through some sort of standard feed, like RSS. If I have to visit soundcloud to listen, or go to the itunes store to manually download the files, then basically, I won’t. Too many other podcast choices out there that make it easy for listeners to access the content automatically. I can’t be alone in wanting automated offline access to the show.
I use an app for my Android tablet called Podkicker. I subscribe to a bunch of podcasts on there, including the SBI Show. When I open the app, it lists all the new episodes of all my podcasts, and I just tap on the ones I want and it downloads them. Pretty easy.

Man, love that Group Home album. Lil Dap and Malachi were pretty average MCs, but Premier straight LACED that album yo.
Take note, Sounders and Timbers fans: Ives takes Oscar Pareja as his current choice for Coach of the Year.

(So easy to mix up the more hate-able teams, I guess!)
“more hate-able”? Sounds like somebody’s jealous.
