The LA Galaxy sure made it look easy.

The Galaxy booked their place in the knockout phase of the CONCACAF Champions League on Wednesday night with a 3-0 road victory over Costa Rican side Cartagines. Jack McBean headed home the winner in the sixth minute for LA, who also received scoring contributions from Chandler Hoffman and Laurent Courtois.

The victory kept the Galaxy perfect with three wins in as many games in the competition and assured they would finish atop of Group 8 with one game to spare. Bruce Arena’s men round out group play with a road fixture against last-place Isidro Metapan on Oct. 24.

In the other CCL match involving an MLS team on Wednesday night, the Houston Dynamo moved one step closer to the next round of the competition with a 2-0 victory at home over W Connection. Jason Johnson scored a splendid winner in the first half and Bobby Boswell added an insurance tally in the second.

The result gave the Dynamo first place in Group 1 with seven points and all Houston needs to move on to the quarterfinals is a result in Panama against Arabe Unido on Oct. 24.
