The San Jose Earthquakes and Vancouver Whitecaps desperately needed victories last week to keep their playoff hopes alive, and the goal-scoring prowess of Camilo Sanvezzo and Steven Lenhart helped both teams find those sorely-needed wins.
Sanvezzo’s brace in Vancouver’s 3-0 win vs. Montreal, and Lenhart’s double in the Earthquakes’ 2-1 win vs. Real Salt Lake, helped earn both a place in the SBI MLS Best XI for Week 31.
Sanvezzo had some help in leading Vancouver to victory. Teammates David Ousted and Lee Young Pyo also earned spots on this week’s Best XI after combining to help shut out Montreal at Stade Saputo.
Portland playmaker Diego Valeri continued to make a case for MVP consideration with his game-winning goal vs. Colorado, a showing that made him an easy Best XI this week.
Here is this week’s SBI MLS Best XI for Week 31:

What do you think of this week’s selections? Who do you feel should have made first team that didn’t?

No Bill Hamid? Seriously? He was magnificent on Saturday
Eddie Johnson? So shoving a player gets honorable mention?
Very surprising to see no mention of JK Hurtado. Thought he was *arguably* a player of the week candidate.
Very surprised. Had Keane locked up tight, so much so Keane tried to kick him in the boys. JKH had a game of the year for him.
