With no Thierry Henry or Jamison Olave in the New York Red Bulls lineup, midfielder Tim Cahill had even more responsibility on his shoulders, and he came through for his club in a big way.

The designated player, in only his second match back from injury, put in a fine performance that included the game-tying goal in the second half to earn a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Sounders on Sunday night. Cahill’s performance in the pouring rain at CenturyLink Field made him an easy choice for SBI MLS Player of the Week.

Cahill beat out Dominic Oduro, Federico Higuain, Mike Magee, and Will Johnson for this week’s honors.

What did you think of Cahill’s performance? Which player stood out to you in MLS Week 31?
