Due to Real Salt Lake’s participation in the U.S. Open Cup final on Tuesday, rookie forward Devon Sandoval was given a rare chance to start and he took full advantage of the opportunity.
On the road at the Vancouver Whitecaps, Sandoval’s ninth minute goal proved the difference in RSL’s 1-0 victory on Saturday. The former New Mexico Lobo’s performance made him our choice for SBI MLS Rookie of the Week.
Sandoval beat out Chad Barson, Maxim Tissot, and Andrew Farrell for this week’s honors.
What did you think of Sandoval’s performance? Which rookie stood out to you in MLS Week 31?

I was wondering if you are going to do a SuperDraft re-draft. Given the way some of these rookies have played, I’m curious which choices merit kudos and which ones deserve raspberries.
Hope you’ll consider it.
Inigo Montoya! He had a good game.
