A light Friday night begins the seventh weekend of the 2013 NCAA Division One college soccer season, but a match-up between the top two teams on Sunday make this weekend a significant one at the top of the SBI College Top 25.

Top-ranked California concludes its five-game home stand against No. 2 Washington in each program’s second Pac-12 match of the season. The Golden Bears and the Huskies each won their conference-opening match on Thursday night by a score of 3-1, defeating Oregon State and Stanford, respectively.

In the nation’s capital, sixth-ranked Georgetown Hoyas put a six-match unbeaten streak on the line in the program’s second Big East contest against the Seton Hall Pirates. The Hoyas are 4-1-1 at Shaw Field, their only blemish a 1-0 loss to then-No. 13 New Mexico.

Furman is the highest-ranked team off this weekend, as the Palladins and No. 13 UCLA are idle.

Here’s a closer look at this weekend’s slate of NCAA College Soccer action:

  1. years ago I played for Georgetown and was crushed by Seton Hall’s imported team of Irish Assassins 10-0! No amount of goals will ever heal those wounds but I’m hoping that tomorrow there might be some redemption
