Heading into the final three rounds of the Liga MX Apertura campaign, both Club Tijuana and Tigres UANL are on the outside looking in.
One of the two clubs, who face each other at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana on Friday, will move one point away from the final place in the Liguilla, or playoffs following the conclusion of the regular season. Currently both teams are on 17 points and have struggled mightily to score. Tijuana have scored just one Liga MX goal in their last five games, a tap-in from Fidel Martinez in a 1-0 victory against Queretaro.
After coming off the bench in the past two matches, Xolos forward Herculez Gomez could start along with Edgar Castillo, while Jose Torres will likely be across the field for Tigres.
Elsewhere in Liga MX, two top-five teams meet when Toluca travel to Club Leon, Club America host Puebla, and last-place Chivas visit high-flying Morelia.
