A clash between two historic Italian powerhouses heading in opposite directions headlines a Soccer Sunday of action from all over the world.
With 16 points to start their quest for a Serie A three-peat, unbeaten Juventus host traditional rival AC Milan on Sunday in a very important league match. Milan have only won two of their opening six matches in league play, and they will be without talented forward Mario Balotelli for their big trip to Turin. The two sides split their tense league meetings last season, and both will be gunning for all three points before the start of the international break.
Two more rivals will battle it out in France on Sunday. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain are in second place heading into their massive Le Classique match against third-place Marseille. PSG will be looking to continue their impressive run against OM—the capital club registered three straight 2-0 wins against their bitter rivals last season.
The day’s action kicks off in the English Premier League, where three of the league’s top five clubs will be in action. League-leading Arsenal bring their impressive winning streak into The Hawthorns, where they will face a West Bromwich Albion side that is coming off a famous win at Manchester United. Elsewhere, fifth-place Chelsea travel to Norwich City, and third-place Tottenham Hotspur welcome West Ham United to White Hart Lane.

For the love of God, can we please stop calling any match between LA Galaxy and Chivas USA a “Super Classico?” Certainly not when the stadium is barely half-full and there aren’t any Chivas fans there.
Not sure if anyone’s mentioned this, but Rafa Marquez got a red card for violent conduct in Leon’s game yesterday in Liga MX. Kinda hard to see on the highlights, but here they are http://youtu.be/EAerSxKSjWU
El Gringo Torres also got a red card.
My Spanish is not so good any more, but assume it was for simulation of a left back in his previous outing.
When do they announce the US call up?
Never mind
USSoccer has released the roster 20 players. Boyd is in and Dempsey is out. no Corona or Torres.
What a game for a neutral. West brom look great this year. As do the gunners.
Let’s go you Baggies. (from LFC fan)
One LFC fan to another Steve Clarkes shjould do us this solid.
That november second game against arsenal. Decides the league leader. Liverpool have newcastle arsenal have palace the week before. Assume 2 wins. That will be a hell of a game.
Timothy Chandler currently losing 5-0 in the 77th minute.
If he’s playing 1 vs 11 then I’d say that’s a valiant effort.
Looking for SBI to comment on FIFA’s sanction/reprimand of Joel Campbell following his disgraceful dive. I’m really wondering how his Arsenal coach dealt with it; doubt that Wegner was very pleased. And especially since Campbell’s national team coach and the Costa Rican’s generally haven’t acknowledged any problem with Campbell and his antics. That kid really needs some adult supervision and I not sure he’s getting any…
Praise in public. Critique in private.
They should get Clint Dempsey to mentor this kid.
Nobody dives as much as Clint Dempsey. Nobody.
Funny joke
Perhaps it’s quantity vs quality; I doubt Dempsey would ever dive in the purely, blatantly phony manner we see here. Has Dempsey ever been sanctioned by FIFA? No.
Freddy Montero really owns Portugal. Leading the league with 9 goals in just 2months in a top 5 league
Portugal is not top 5.
check uefa standings. Portuguese league is ranked 5th. French league is currently 6th
Nice to see former MLS players doing well in top leagues. It’d be cool to see him get called up to Columbia. If we could see MLS helping produce players for national teams as good as Columbia it could really help the leagues reputation around the world. Also for discussions (not arguments) sake I would put France as the 5th best league in the world rather than Portugal. Portugals def up there tho.
Columbia?
Colombia I’m sorry. Just a typo.
I go to Ohio State in Columbus so perhaps the U was out of habit.
My brother goes to Columbia University so I do catch myself doing the same thing.
Ha! That guy made an honest mistake, let’s ridicule him! Fun times…
Coke knows all about Colombia
Colombia is crowded with strikers. He has a chance at backup no way he is stealing that starting role.
So, which game to watch – Spurs/WH or Arsenal/WBA?
Same dilemma man. I went with Spurs because I still have a soft spot for them after last season.
Half an hour to play, 1-1 and the Bacon is starting to sizzle!
I need breakfast….
Edit: 1 minute after this post, he is pulled.
Lol he was heated, so much for watching that game.
Maybe I will check in on the Belgian waffles option over in Anderlecht.
Aaaaaannnddd Sasha just got pulled.
Are you a jinx? Stop watching the Americans so they can get 90 minutes!
he is the anti-christ
