After a tumultuous start to the season, David Moyes has returned Manchester United to its winning ways.

The club has won four matches in a row in all competitions and five in their last six, which includes a win in the UEFA Champions League against Real Sociedad two weeks ago. Now with the rematch in San Sebastian, Man United looks to pull ahead of the pack in Group A with a crucial road victory.

Elsewhere in Champions League action, Juventus hosts high-scoring Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow visits Manchester City, and defending champions Bayern Munich travel to the Czech Republic to face Viktoria Plzen.

In the evening, the Apertura Copa MX final takes the spotlight as Morelia hosts Atlas. If Morelia wins, it would be their first cup title, while Atlas has won the Copa Mexico on four previous occasions.

  1. Saw a gif of the Young’s dive and let me just say I have no idea how he keeps getting those calls. That is not a penalty and is a blatant dive

  2. And to further cement our case–a Fellaini red card. Can’t have a complaint about that.

He’s truly not suited for this level of play. Incredible how exposed he is now.

  3. And red card for sacha…..not a smart play. Chicken winged his arm to stop a pass when he was on a yellow. Clear and easy call for the ref. The announcers noted how well he has played today.

      • He actually had a great game today and ran tirelessly. Again the announcers singled him out for his play and noted he is the key player for the squad. I watched both legs vs PSG and his last 2 league matches and he was Anderlecht’s best player. He did not look overmatched or nervous vs the stars of PSG. He moved the ball well and was very tidy and decisive. His movement was smart and helped his team. They really relied on him to start the attack and drift into space. I have been impressed with him of late and hope he can carry it over to the Nats. At this point I think he could help the team as an option off the bench or spot starter depending on tactics.

      • jones doesn’t get too many assists, either; but i think it was a joke about how, generally, jones is characterized by great play interspersed with not-so-great-play, so maybe we should just lighten up.

    • He is honestly… terrible. Amazing how much the people around him were sheltering him at Everton.

At about the 75th minute mark he had a turnover rate of about 50%. Incredible.

    • Is it possible that he just isn’t fitting in at United? He was very good at Everton – yes, i said very good. He plays regularly for his national squad Belgium, who is/are tearing up qualifying and looking like a dark horse for 2014 WC.

So, to what level is he not performing, and is it possible that the United squad just doesn’t fit his strengths?

      • He was very good at Everton in relation to the players around him. I never thought he was as good as people made him out to be. He’s now getting exposed even in this version of ManU that’s way below their usual standards.

  4. How many outright dives will Ashley Young be awarded penalties for? It’s about time someone steps up and sanctions this garbage.
