Arriola scores in Dorados Copa MX win

Taking advantage of Club Tijuana’s link with Liga Ascenso club Dorados de Sinaloa, Paul Arriola spent the early part of this week training and eventually making his Dorados debut in memorable fashion.

The 18-year-old American forward started and played all 90 minutes for Dorados in their Copa MX match at Estudiantes Tecos in Guadalajara, scoring a goal in the 53rd minute to put his side up two goals. Arriola took a pass just outside the box, dribbled forward, and slotted home through the goalkeeper’s legs.

Arriola’s goal was his first in the Clausura season. Though he still wears No. 47 for Xolos, the American youth international has been an integral part of new Tijuana head coach Cesar Farias’ plans, coming off the bench in the final ten minutes of Xolos’ memorable win last Friday against Club America.
