Fire bring back Atouba, Kelley on new deals

Yazid Atouba Chicago Fire (Chicago Fire)

By FRANCO PANIZO

They may not have played much in 2013, but Yazid Atouba and Kellen Gulley will be with the Chicago Fire this season.

Chicago announced on Tuesday that it has re-signed Atouba, a 21-year-old Cameroonian midfielder, and Gulley, a 19-year-old American forward. Atouba re-joins the Fire after making three appearances for the club in 2013 and Gulley returns after spending the previous year with NASL’s Atlanta Silverbacks.

Gulley initially signed with the Fire as a Homegrown Player back in Aug. 2011 while Atouba was selected by Chicago in the second round (30th overall) of last year’s MLS SuperDraft.

Per MLS and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
