Just as Lionel Messi returned to the starting lineup for Barcelona, his teammate Neymar could be facing an extended spell on the sidelines.
The young Brazilian winger suffered a gruesome injury in the 22nd minute of Barcelona’s match against Getafe as his ankle gave away while trying to send a cross into the box. Neymar was carried off the field by two members of the medical staff and following the game, Barcelona announced that he had suffered a sprained ankle.
According to the Barcelona release, Neymar will undergo more tests on his ankle on Friday.
A number of reports in Spain have speculated that Neymar could return in three weeks: just in time for Barcelona’s first-leg UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City on Feb. 18. While Messi was out injured, Neymar helped pick up the scoring slack, scoring six times in all competitions in the Argentine’s absence.

Welcome to the real soccer world.
Naw, wasn’t even a foul.(Wasn’t touched) It just gave out when he tried to stop too quickly. It went almost 90 degrees.
He was protected in Brazil n didn’t play hard, now he’s getting a taste of the real soccer of the world
Well, in general ya. La Liga tends to call fouls pretty easy too. Unless its a big game, then oddly… they don’t call anything. Some of those classico games are super nasty.
Here those. Its just weak ankle/bad footing.

Happy its not too serious. Had worries he would miss the world cup. Also happy he might miss the city game
Happy he might miss the City game? Whatever serves your interests? I too am happy about what serves my, more importantly the USMNT interests at the World Cup. Not wishing injury on anyone, but I’m fine with a couple key players we may face in knockout rounds getting a timely knock. For that matter folks in the group stage, too.
Citys my team, so id prefer neymar sit out for that game
