The U.S. Women’s National Team will be staying in Atlanta a little longer than they planned to.

The U.S.’s friendly vs. Russia at the Georgia Dome scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed to Thursday night at 730pm due to the inclement weather that is hitting the area. In addition, the open training session scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled.

U.S. Soccer said the decision to push the game back a day came with the fans’ in mind, as Atlanta is expected to be in the midst of a snowstorm on Wednesday. The federation added that fans unable to attend the friendly on Thursday night could receive a full refund from the original point of purchase by Feb. 23 at the latest.

“After thorough discussions, we decided the best course of action was to delay the match considering the challenges our fans would likely encounter due to the snow and icy conditions,” said U.S. Soccer director of communications Neil Buethe. “Our goal is to always provide the best experience for the fans and postponing the match for 24 hours will provide the 14,000-plus individuals who already purchased tickets with the best opportunity to attend the match”

The Americans defeated Russia in the first of a two-game set this past Saturday, picking up an impressive 7-0 victory at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla.
