The 2014 World Cup is just around the corner. The 2014 World Cup video game is even closer.
EA Sports announced on Thursday that it will continue its tradition of making World Cup-focused video games by releasing 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil this spring. The game will hit stores in the United States and rest of North America on April 15 and in Europe two days later. It will only be made for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
The game will include 21 new stadiums, including all 12 Brazilian stadiums that will host World Cup games this summer; over 15 hours of added in-game commentary; and new control systems that EA says will make for more responsive dribbling and pinpoint passing. It will also have new set piece tactics, Adidas ball physics and penalty kick animations for both the shooters and goalkeepers.
In total, 203 of the teams sanctioned by FIFA will be playable in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, including the United States and Mexico. There are also 7,469 players in the game and 19 officially licensed managers.
