Tab Ramos opened his inaugural pre-Olympic U.S. Under-21 Men’s National Team training camp in Carson, Calif. without two of his key players.

Real Salt Lake midfielder Luis Gil and Columbus Crew midfielder Wil Trapp both accepted call-ups but then pulled out of the camp on Monday due to injuries. Gil is dealing with a sore hamstring while Trapp picked up a knock during his 90-minute performance on Saturday against D.C. United.

Ramos has decided not to call in any other players, leaving the U.S. U-21 roster at 19 for this week’s camp. The camp includes a friendly against Club Tijuana on Wednesday. Even without Trapp and Gil in the roster, the roster includes 12 Major League Soccer players and 11 players who were part of last summer’s U.S. Under-20 MNT at the Under-20 World Cup.
