The newly crowned Ligue 1 champions will be action Saturday against a rival club fighting for its Champions League future.
Third-place Lille lead Saint Etienne by five points in the battle for the final Champions League spot in France, and they can nail their trip to next season’s tournament with a home victory Saturday against Paris Saint-Germain. Lille are on a 13-match unbeaten run and have something to play for today, while PSG have already clinched their trophy with two matches remaining in the Ligue 1 calendar. Despite winning the title, PSG have struggled down the stretch this season and could be on the way to another disappointing result against a determined Lille squad.
In Germany, the season’s Bundesliga action will come to an end with some late drama in their own Champions League race. Bayer Leverkusen lead Wolfsburg by just one point heading into Saturday’s action, when they will face Werder Bremen at the BayArena. Wolfsburg are on the road against Borussia Monchengladbach, who could also grab a Champions League spot with a win and some help from Werder Bremen in what is shaping up to be a fantastic finish in Germany’s top division.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Inter Milan face Lazio in a battle of Europa League proportions in the Serie A table. Second-place French side AS Monaco look to enter what could be another big-money summer with momentum as they visit relegated Valenciennes, and Pachuca will look to finish off Santos Laguna in the second leg of their Liga MX semifinal.

Nantes is getting rolled. Johansson still out.
I’m pretty worried about this injury to Johannsson at this point. When people with AZ are saying its something he’s had for awhile. You see a pretty drastic drop off in production along that time. Now missing 3 matches in a row.
Doesn’t look like there will be any playoff for Nurnberg needing 3 goals in 20 minutes.
I think Chandler has already gotten interest from someone.. Hamburg maybe? Can’t remember where I read it
There were some rumors around Stuttgart, but I guess we’ll see.
Ok yea that’s right
Stuttgart is interested again. Roma was interested back in 2011.
is Lewandowski ready to move to Munich? Can he become 1 of the worlds best strikers
are these questions about the top striker sin the world every week a joke? i feel like i am just up to speed on some sort of inside joke with these comments/questions EVERY week.
yeah, they actually feel like spam to me, but without any end goal in mind (at least that i can think of).
Expatty aka durk you are such a silly thing posting with all your sockpuppets.
Solo was announced as the u-15 coach at Hannover. Pretty exciting stuff.
Meaning he is coaching them and the start of his European coaching career. It’s nice to have a former USMNT into coaching.
There are a a good bit of former USMNT players that are coaching now
I was about to say “Why would anyone let Hope Solo around a bunch of 15year olds”
More appropriately, why would you let a bunch of teenage boys with raging hormones around Hope Solo?
Or a bunch of middle-aged boys with raging hormones? Asking for a friend.
My U-16 coach looked like skeletor. That wouldn’t be fair at all.
I wish there was an English broadcast of this Hertha – Dortmund game. 35′ – JAB hasn’t had much to do, a couple simple clearances. He did step up once with nice timing and positioning, helping stall one of Dortmund’s attacks, and regain possession.
Dortmund is applying pressure, but haven’t been very precise. Credit to Hertha, who look more and more likely to steal a result as the game goes on, 0 – 0.
Ya.. no more stealing happening. I don’t think he was left with too many options on that play. Stepping up to try to intercept the ball and put people offside was prolly the right one considering that it looked like the other CB could have cut out the pass to Lewandoski.
Yeah, I can’t blame him for the first one. Dortmund turned it on, and the midfield kind of fell asleep for a second and left the back line out to dry there.
Haha, wow. I jinxed them. 2 – 0 Dortmund, before the half, and Brooks could arguably have done better on the first, and got beat on the second. I didn’t see the replay on the second, but it looked like JAB was coming to cover for a beaten defender (LB), tried to make a block, but the shot was faked and he was passed by.
Yep, that’s exactly what happened on the second. First harder to read but he wasn’t the only one who could have don’t better.
No Timmy Chandler for Nurnberg this morning (according to ESPNFC). Another injury?
Yellow card accumulariin , I believe.
Brooks is playing Dortmund Survived so far.
Just scored against while having a Dortmunder on either side of him.
I think one of the outside backs actually forgot to step up and left someone onside behind him and the other CB.
