The New York Red Bulls broke a streak on Sunday that had lasted for exactly 11 years, 11 months, and ten days.

In highly unexpected fashion, a very shorthanded Red Bulls side defeated the New England Revolution, 2-0, earning the Red Bulls their first victory at the Revolution since June 29, 2002. The Red Bulls scored goals through veterans Eric Alexander and Peguy Luyindula, and goalkeeper Luis Robles made a number of crucial stops to earn the clean sheet.

The Red Bulls’ performance in Foxborough, Mass. earned them SBI MLS Team of the Week honors. The Red Bulls beat out the Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers, and FC Dallas for this week’s honors.
