United announce roster for LA Galaxy friendly, Champions Cup

Manchester United has announced the 25-man roster that will compete in the team’s U.S. tour, which includes a July 23 friendly against the LA Galaxy.

Among the names that will take on the four-time MLS Cup champions are forward Wayne Rooney, goalkeeper David De Gea, and midfielder Juan Mata. The match is set to kickoff from the historic Rose Bowl at 10:30 p.m.

Following the friendly, Manchester United will take part in the International Champions Cup, playing AS Roma in Denver (July 26), Inter Milan in Washington D.C. (July 29), and Real Madrid in Michigan (Aug. 2). The tournament final is set for Aug. 4 in Miami, Fla.

  1. Robin van Persie, Javier Hernandez, Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj are still on holiday after the World Cup. Michael Carrick is out with an ankle injury until October.

    • I guess the 60 minutes or so that he actually played in the WC has caused him to need a longer recovery time than everyone else.

    • If they already have a bid accepted and are waiting for ChiChi’s agents to accept the deal and physical for finalization, then they won’t risk injuring him. Damaged goods don’t sell.

  2. I always forget they actually have some great attacking midfielders. Defensive/Box to Box mids are none existent though.
