The New England Revolution will have to wait another week to end the winless streak that is slowly crumbing their playoff hopes.

The Revs were defeated for the club record seventh straight outing, this time by FC Dallas, which toppled the Revs 2-0 behind goals from Andres Escobar and Tesho Akindele in front of 15,551 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

With the win, FC Dallas pushed their own unbeaten streak to six games.

FC Dallas were the more aggressive side from the start before getting a well-earned goal from midfielder Andres Escobar in the 29th minute. After being stuffed by Bobby Shuttlesworth just 12 minutes earlier, Escobar beat the Revs goalkeeper for his second goal of the season.

After Akindele rattled the crossbar, the ball found it’s way to Escobar, who scooted through the box, dribbling around defenders before finishing to make the score 1-0.

Akindele, who nearly added to the lead in the 61st minute, finally added the insurance goal in the first minute of extra time. Akindele took a pass from Michel and dribbled straight at the Revs last man back, Andrew Farrell. The rookie dribbled right past the Revs defender and beat Shuttlesworth to seal the Revs’ seventh straight defeat.

The Revs will have to wait until next Saturday’s matchup with the Columbus Crew to try and pick up some ever-elusive points. Meanwhile, streaking FC Dallas are back in action Wednesday when they host Premier League side Aston Villa for a friendly.
