Adam Bedell probably wasn’t expecting to come on in the first half against the New York Red Bulls, but he took his chance and made something out of it.
Entering for the injured Jairo Arrieta in the 25th minute, the towering Bedell fired home a first-time strike on the half-volley in the 39th minute for his first career MLS goal, tying the game at 1-1. Though the Columbus Crew eventually lost, Bedell’s goal made him our choice for SBI MLS Rookie of the Week.
Bedell beat out Chris Duvall, Harry Shipp, and Patrick Mullins for this week’s honors.

Guy is humungous
Does Igor Juliao count as a rookie as a 20 year old on loan?
Does he have a nick name yet? I’m suggesting the Yellow Giant
Columbus Crouch?
Glad MLS is back! Love me some McSoccer!
